Review of Elden Ring – The Lands Between Odyssey
Maksim: The Thrill of Exploration
From the very first hours, Elden Ring pulled me into its vast and cryptic world. The exploration is absolutely masterful—every detour hides a secret, every ruin tells a story. The fusion of Miyazaki and Martin’s storytelling works seamlessly, creating a dark epic where narratives emerge through ruins and whispers. The difficulty is demanding but never unfair, rewarding persistence. My only gripe? Some recycled bosses break the magic a little.
Score: 9/10
Enzo: Brutal yet Satisfying
As a Souls veteran, Elden Ring still managed to surprise me. The combat feels incredibly fluid, and the addition of jumping completely changes the dynamic of fights. The bosses are unforgettable—special mention to Malenia, who broke me mentally. However, the balancing is questionable: some builds make the game too easy, while others are a nightmare. It doesn’t ruin the experience, but it’s frustrating.
Score: 8.5/10
Julien: Total Immersion
What struck me the most was the atmosphere. The art direction is insane—every landscape looks like a painting, every castle breathes history. I took my time to explore everything, to observe every detail, and that’s where Elden Ring won me over. However, the open world sometimes lacks variety in its activities. You often stumble upon similar catacombs or reused enemies, which slightly diminishes the sense of uniqueness in some areas. But overall, it’s a breathtaking experience.
Score: 9/10
Ariane: A Demanding but Fascinating Adventure
I struggled at first. Elden Ring is ruthless for new players, and the lack of a proper tutorial makes learning tough. But the more I played, the more I understood the game’s philosophy—patience, observation, and adaptation. It’s rewarding, even if sometimes unfair (some enemy hitboxes still haunt me). The minimalist storytelling left me wanting more, but the world itself is mesmerizing.
Score: 8/10
Overall Verdict: A Colossal Masterpiece with Minor Flaws
Elden Ring is a masterpiece of exploration and design. FromSoftware has created a world that is as merciless as it is beautiful, where every player forges their own adventure. While balancing issues and some repetitive elements slightly tarnish the experience, the game remains exceptional—a journey that will go down in gaming history.
Final Score: 8.8/10
